Tarot Card Design & Fabric book
The "Goddess Temple" engages viewers through tarot cards and oracle texts. The tarot cards, embodying the goddess's will, instruct on "how women can attain perfection." While these revelations seem to offer a path to perfection, they are ultimately impossible and absurd. Striking visual effects capture attention, emphasising the absurdity of the tarot texts, creating discomfort, and prompting women to reflect critically.
BIO
Scarlett Yang is a Chinese illustrator based in the UK. She holds a Master's degree in Illustration from the University of Brighton and undergraduate degrees in Environmental Art Design and Applied Psychology. Her diverse cultural and educational background enables her to seamlessly blend Chinese and Western elements in her artwork. Scarlett uses visual art as a medium to generate conversations with the public, focusing on social topics and human relationships to give a voice to marginalised communities.
